A couple with their chihuahua named TJ was on their way to the Pier 84 dog run, when I stopped to interview them. The man placed the dog on the bench so I could photograph him. But TJ was so excited to get inside the dog run that he couldn't stay still. After a few pictures of him, the man took him inside.
The lady stayed behind so I could ask her questions about their dog. I learned that her name is Donna and she said, "We got him from Texas.".
How come you got a dog in Texas?
Because my folks were there and we missed our old chihuahua. We've been missing him for four years now. I think life's too short not to have a dog. So we adopted another one who looks very similar but absolutely none of the same characteristics of the previous ones. He's a completely opposite dog.
What are the characteristics of TJ?
He kinda barks. He's been to doggy training once. And they said he is not incorrigible. However, he has a few issues from the environment that he came from, being rescued and all that.
Was he abused?
I don't see how, he was such a little puppy. Unless, he was taken form his mom too early. He's a very scared dog, when he barks his tail is underneath. So we watch a lot of Cesar Millan.
Donna was cheerful while talking about TJ. He may not have the same personality as their previous chihuahua, but I bet he does the same thing - put a smile on the couple's face and make them happy.
