No Need to Panic Anymore
This is Andrew and his shaggy dog named Panic.
Did you get Panic at a pet store?
Panic is a rescue. He is a Tibetan terrier. I got him from a rescue center, ACC on 110th street.
How long ago was that?
About five years now.
Why did you get a dog?
Start exercising again. Get out of the house.
Why did you pick Panic out of all the dogs from the rescue?
At the ACC, I think they have about 125 cages. Probably 95 of them are pitbulls
and big dogs. I have a small one bedroom apartment.
He was a very nervous dog when I first got him. He hid under the bed for three
days and stayed there.
How did you get him to be comfortable with you?
Little by little, he just came out. Fed him under the bed, had to drag him out
for walks. But as soon I let him off the leash, he went right under the bed.
What three adjectives would you use to desribe him?
Friendly, loving and grateful.
He maybe named Panic but he doesn't seem to be the nervous dog he was five years ago. With love and care even a panicky dog can become a friendly and sociable friend.
