Who's Walking Who?
While in Tribeca, I noticed a beautiful Beagle from afar, walking on the opposite side, but towards my direction. As the dog got closer, I saw a woman on the other end of the leash who was patiently following him. I approached them and asked if I can feature them. She agreed and said, "Oh yeah. I just got him today. I've had him for a couple of hours. I got treats for Snoopy, but he doesn't seem to care.".
Then I followed them while asking more questions. It's pretty obvious that they were still getting to know each other and Snoopy was dragging Christina in a haphazard direction. He was very curious and somewhat overwhelmed by his new surroundings.
I found out that she and her fiance wanted a medium-sized dog, and they saw a beagle up for adoption. I inquired further, "How long have you been planning to get a dog?".
Her response was, "I grew up with a dog and I've always wanted one. It's just was never the right time. And now, we're more settled in our lives where it makes sense.". I also learned that they'll send Snoopy to obedience training before they take him to socialize in a dog park.
Seems to me that she's got a good sense of direction in life, despite being dragged aimlessly by a beagle. Good luck to Christina, her fiance and Snoopy, may they have lots of joyful walks together!
