Doreen and her pet Olive were relaxing on the grass at Riverside Park, when I met them. Doreen got her from a breeder in Pensylvannia when she was 8 weeks old. When asked why she chose a boxer breed, she replied "I grew up with a boxer. And my mother had grown up with boxers. And when I was looking for a dog and kept thinking of different things, it always comes back to boxers.".
And then, she described Olive's personality, "She's a big kisser. Boxers are generally considered very smart but very stubborn, which is a tough combo. The dog she loves, she really loves. The dogs she hates, she really hates. She's passionate in every direction.".
I added, "Well she's a real New Yorker!".
Doreen replied, "She's her mother's daughter. You don't have to like everybody.".
Did I mention that Olive aproached me from behind and licked me while I was interviewing their friends Sunny and Becky? She also tried a second attempt towards the end of that interview. If you check out her main picture, you can see that she was getting ready to kiss me.
Finally, when I finished interviewing them, I told her to come kiss me. And she planted a big wet one on my face, with lots of tongue too!
