More Photos of Nina:

Update: July 20, 2015

While waiting for a new dog to feature at Clintown DeWitt Park, I saw a lady with a beatiful Shiba Inu. I approached them and asked,  "Can I feature your dog for a pet website?".

The woman responded, "You already did. That's Nina.".

Then I remembered Nina and Alex. When I met them, she just adopted Nina for two weeks. Nina was so friendly that she kept moving towards me whenever I tried to take her photo. She did the same while I took pictures of her.

Alex also told me that Nina prefered people over dogs.  There was an incident when Alex was walking Nina and a German Shepherd bit her ear. Nina cried and her right ear was wounded. Ever since then, she was aloof with other dogs and favored humans.

I wonder if there's a city law that mandates dogs that bite must wear a nozzle. If not, there should be one!

It's been almost a year and overall they seem to have had a blissful year together! How do I know? Look at their photos - Nina has that genuine smile indicating that she is loved!

On my way home, there was this lady and her dog who seemed to have a relaxed and friendly aura. I introduced myself and met Alex and her pet Nina. Nina is a four-year old Shiba Inu who was adopted from Best Friends Animal Shelter in Brooklyn, just two weeks ago.

Alex enthusiastically added, "She's really friendly. Despite coming from a shelter, she's so nice to everyone. No issues so far and she's so curious about everything. She's really sweet, 'cause their breed, they are very shy usually and reserved. But she's like friendly with everyone.".

And then, Nina reaffirmed her congeniality by putting a paw on my arm. I couldn't help but laugh, it's as if she knew what we were talking about.

Cheers to the new best friends, may you have many blissful years together!
