Dog Walk For A Cause
It was a busy crowded day on South Street and there was some sort of a walk for a cause. I saw a man and his dog wearing a purple and white scarf. I came up to them and introduced myself. I found out that he is Edwin and his dog's name is Joy.
Where did you get Joy?
We rescued her from a shelter in Wayne, New Jersey.
May I ask why'd you get a dog?
We just bought a new house in September and we've always wanted a dog. The apartment we had before was too small.
What's Joy like?
She's good. She's calm. She's great with the girls. I have two daughters, she's good with. She's taken two training classes already.
Do you take her to the city a lot?
This is the first time she's been to New York. We take her to the dog run and things like that.
So how was the walk?
It was good. It was three miles.
May I ask why you joined the walk?
My wife has lupus.
Maybe I can put a link to the organization on the site?
Do you want to meet her so you can take a picture of her and the dog? She's in the wheelchair over there.
We walked over to meet her. She was nice and in good spirit. Joy calmly sat next to her but still seem distracted by the crowd. Joy was the newest part of the family and they all did the Walk To End Lupus Now on that nice sunny day.
