As Christina was getting out of the dog park with her cute toy dog in tow, I asked what the name of her pooch is. She told me it was Aria. And then inquired further if she was named after Arya from Game of Thrones. She said yes but she spells it as Aria, like the hotel in Vegas.
So how old is Aria?
She is a year and a half
What breed is she?
She is a Morkie - so half Yorkie, half Maltese.
Where did you get Aria?
I rescued her from a pet store. I used to have three other dogs. And all of them were either from breeders or from shelters. I saw her at a pet store and I got her on a whim because just seeing her personality and everything. She acted very much like Arya Stark. She mounted this other dog that was bigger than her. And I was like, "I totally have to get this dog!".
She does look like Arya from Game of Thrones - those big round eyes, definitely! So what is she like?
She's like a tomboy. She likes to play with dogs bigger than her. And she loves to run, more like chase after dogs. Mostly, she's well behave. She's really bright, sharp. She listens well. She can also be very calm too, very sweet. Whenever you are having a bad day, she just knows.
How many dogs have you had before Aria?
Six, in my lifetime.
Is she your first dog as an adult?
My first dog in New York.
And how's that so far? What are the challenges of having a pet in New York?
There are dog parks/dog runs everywhere and because she is small it is easier. I got her as a puppy so she is well acclimated to city life.
At the end of our chat, Christina placed Aria in her pet carrier bag while her head peeks out of the top opening. Aria glanced at me as they were leaving. Arya Stark from Game of Thrones might have lost her family, but this Aria has found her family in Christina.
