At 23rd Street PATH Station, I saw a dog climb the stairs. Once he reached the top, he stopped and started panting loudly. His tongue was sticking out and looked very exhausted. I asked the man who was with the dog if I could photograph him.
Once I kneeled down, I saw that the French Bulldog had a vest which said Service Dog. He approached me, looking at me, asking to give him to give a pet. So I did. I asked the man...
What is his name?
How old is he?
He seems to have a hard time climbing the stairs.
It's because of his breed. His head type disproportionately and that panting means the he is working just to breathe.
So is he your service dog?
Yes. He detects if my blood sugar level is dropping or spiking.
How does he let you know?
He taps his foot
And then the man added...
Growing up, I've never had any pets. And then, I had this condition and my wife got him for me. He's just great!
Peanut is not just a best friend but a life saver too!
