After interviewing Daniele about Major, my peripheral vision caught an adorable shaggy dog. I knew I had to take her photo. When I walked over to them, the adorable pooch approached me in a warm and amiable manner, as if she knew she was going to be featured on this site.
Meet Andra and her charming Pekingese, Burberry.
Why did you name her Burberry?
Because when I got her, I was wearing my Burberry scarf and she was playing with the tassles. And she kept playing with it and I said "You must like Burberry!". And when I said it, she looked right at me, like I said her name. So she kinda named herself.
And Burberry's signature colors are the same.
She's the fawn color with the black, and then, I got her a red harness so she's got the Nova Check scarf colors.
Where did you get her?
I actually got her when I lived in Washington DC. And then, we moved here and she's been here five years now. And she's seven.
What prompted you to get a dog?
I wanted a dog, cause I had a dog ten years ago. He passed and I was at the point of my life again when I want a dog. I wanted an apartment dog and I was looking between the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and I just came across a Pekingese. And I fell in love with her.
So what's her personality like?
She's more a human dog than a dog dog. She loves humans. We'll bring her to the dog park and she plays, but she doesn't play for long. She's more out to say hi to all people before she would to the other dogs.
She's a little stubborn. When she wants to go somewhere and you don't want her to go that way, she will put all her force down and just stop. Even though she's little, she's mighty.
She's a good girl though. She's sweet and just a cuddle monster, just a full lap dog. True-wants-to-be in your lap.
What is her standout trait?
Her tongue sticking out. She recently had teeth taken out. But even before then, her tongue sticks out. One of the first things people notice about her is her tongue sticks out.
She knows she's a princess. She thinks everyone is around to see her.
Just like the designer clothing brand Burberry, this Pekingese is classy and very appealing.
